Another: Anime

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here back at it with another review about an anime called “Another”(see what I did there ;-P). So lets begin!

This horror, mystery is written by Yukito Ayatsuji and illustrated by Hiro Kiyohara. It was derived from the manga “Another”. Warning: Contains a lot of blood

No. of episodes: 12

Main Characters:

  • Kōichi Sakakibara
  • Mei Misaki

In 1972, Misaki, a student of Yomiyama North Middle School’s class 3-3, suddenly died partway through the school year. Yet the students and teachers behaved like Misaki was still alive, leading to a strange presence on the graduation photo. The story revolves around 15-year old Kōichi Sakakibara who transfers to this school in 1988 where he meets Mei Misaki. She had a very strange appearance and presence. Surprisingly, to Sakakibara’s notice, everyone ignores her. Yet she turns out to be his best friend. Soon the class is caught up in this weird case of deaths of their fellow students and relatives which they say is because of the death of the Misaki in 1972. Now, it is up to Sakakibara and Misaki of 1988 to find out the cause of these mysterious deaths. The story continues….

This anime is a quite scary one. One that can possibly give you the chills and might wanna avoid as a midnight kind of anime. The story and concept of the anime is very different compared to any other type of anime. Scary and confusing. Not the ideal kin of genre for everyone. Yet, this anime is short making it a quick and interesting one. Just like it gave me, it can give people the chills/ goosebumps. But honestly, it a good anime. There is quite a lot of blood and violence in the show though. And it lives up to its genre.

I would give this anime a 3.5/5 stars.
