Attack on Titan Season 3: First Impression

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. Hope everyone’s week has been going amazing. So, let’s begin.

This season coming out was no surprise to a lot of the AOT fan base, ut for me personally, the story was a big surprise.

Season 2 was a pretty above average season that gave us a completely new story line with tons of fight scenes and a lot of new surprises and secrets as well. All in all the season ended with some crazy suspense and got its’ audience excited for a brand new AOT season.

In season 3, a new story comes to us where Levi has assembled a new squad and Eren and Historia are always on the watch. In a desperate attempt to use Eren’s powers once again to fill up the hole in the wall, a new enemy enters the scene and a few plot twists make their debut. Also, no spoilers, but someone important dies which causes even more drama.

With some new drama, this episode was all about the dialogues and was quite informative and boring as a whole. The highlight of the episode really came at the end with Levi and the new enemy they have introduced. The scene was really exciting and has definitely set the bench mark high for a crazy new story line (although I do wish the anime wasn’t all over the place with their stories).

Coming to the characters; Armin is not exactly the same old loser and has started becoming more and more brave. Mikasa has begun putting some more interest into her work and is still extremely protective of Eren. Eren seems pretty much the same except for an even deeper voice than what he already had. Finally, Levi is also pretty much the same; great senses, scary personality, amazing character.

A completely new opening for the anime that is completely different from the first 2 and does not suit the anime at all. Great animation and again, a great great great ending scene.

Overall, an average episode but a lot of expectations from the season. Really can’t wait to see more!

The tone of the opening is definitely a bit different. I kind of liked the character focus in it, but that doesn’t seem to set up the kind of story I was expecting. I guess we’ll see if that is a direction the anime is going or whether the OP just doesn’t fit the series as this season progresses.

I didn’t pay much attention to what was shown in the opening because I learnt from past experiences that they usually contain spoilers. I hope this anime does improve because there are still a lot of questions I would like answered. But, a new story line creates some new drama. So, let’s see how this progresses.
