Kakegurui-Compulsive Gambler (Season 2): Anime: “More gambling means more fun.”

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. I hope everyone has had a great week. So, let’s begin.

This season deals with the Momobami family fighting for the family power through gambling matches in the school itself against other players to win in the student council elections.

Kakegurui, as a whole, is an interesting concept of an anime. What may look like a normal high school from the outside contains some craziness from the inside. Now, we are usually used to this craziness involving some horror like murder. But this anime takes the craziness to another level with gambling.

This season contained way more politics than season 1 did. Considering everyone was playing for winning a seat in the student council, you can make out that the stakes were very high. One thing I will credit the creators is their ability to not make the show only about politics and stick true to their main plot i.e. gambling. I give them credit for this because I have experiences in the past where anime has let politics take over their entire plot and ruined the story (*cough* food wars *cough*).

We get to witness so high level gambling matches which clearly have a lot of thought put into. This definitely makes the anime more fun and interesting to watch. When thinking of the story you can’t think of anything except no game no life (one of the best anime ever) where everything is decided by a game. Similarly, in this anime everything is decided by gambling.

The animation quality for this anime is great and the plot twists always add to the suspense of the anime. Although the anime goes kinda over board with some of the characters sometimes it just wouldn’t be the same if they were any different. The opening is above average . Honestly, there would be no need to recommend this anime because it doesn’t blow my mind and you aren’t missing out on anything if you don’t watch it. Overall okay.

I would give this season of the anime 3/5 stars.
