Black Clover (Ep. 126-150)| Anime| “Cheesy comedy with endless fillers.”

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. I hope everyone is having a great, safe, and healthy week. My semester break is already over and I’ve started my second semester of my first year in med school. So, I’m back to a busy schedule. Anyways, let’s begin.

Story:

These episodes of black clover cover the time after the attack of the Eye of The Midnight Sun on the Clover kingdom. As the kingdom is trying to recover its’ strength and gain back the trust of the people, all the magic knights are also training heavily to prepare for their upcoming battle in the Spade kingdom.

These episodes span over multiple filler episodes with no real solid plot. A small arc does exist in these episodes involving Devil worshippers who consider Asta their leader as he is a peasant with no magic who has power to rival even the strongest magic knights. The Devil worshippers are a group of people with very little magic who wish to escape to the Spade kingdom in hope that the demon there would grant them more power and magic.

Review:

Finally, after taking a nearly year break from this anime, I decided to get back to it and get it over with. Partially because of Naruto and partially because of the amount of fillers, this anime for me has been dragged on for way too long. However, my friends told me that beyond the fillers the anime gets really exciting so that motivated me to finally get back.

Starting off, I just want to say that these episodes don’t have much to review about. Considering the fact that all these episodes are just the fillers, these episodes were more boring than anything. At the same time, there was probably only one real “filler arc” that these episodes had which was not too bad. The whole devil worshipper’s arc was pretty decent as a filler. We don’t really see any fun action scenes but we do get to see a lot of interesting ideology’s and views of people form the lower strata of the society in the kingdom. Seeing how differently Asta and the other’s think just shows the difference in mindset and how it can affect your way of living and ultimately the decisions you make in life. I found the message through these episodes to be quite intriguing and thought provoking. Also, seeing Nero find the resemblance between the first magic emperor and Julius was really heart warming and just continues to show why he’s probably one of the best characters on the show.

If there’s anything these episodes did do it was getting us excited for the upcoming battle at Spade kingdom. The show has really hyped up our expectations for the upcoming training and battle arcs and I do hope the show matched our expectations. After so many fillers I really do need to see a continuation in the actual plot with some crazy action that gets me excited to watch more.

The animation is the same as always, above average. The opening song was decent nothing too amazing. I am excited to see what this show has in store in these final few episodes. There really isn’t much more to say about these episodes. Overall, meh.

Rating:

I would give these episodes of the anime 2.5/5 stars.
