Wonder Woman: Movie

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog! Eid Mubarak everyone! Hope everyone has had a great week. Mine is still pretty hectic. I got unit tests starting from wednesday so I’m like extra busy now. So let’s begi nthe review of this movie ‘Wonder Woman’!

This super hero, action film was directed by Patty Jenkins and is a DC films production.

Duration: 2 hours 21 minutes (141 minutes)

  • Ares (David Thewlis)

Story:

On encountering and saving American pilot, Steve Trevor she hears about the war going on in the world and is determined to set off and create peace and find her half-brother Ares. Review:

This movie was honestly over hyped. The amount it was praised (especially by all my friends) was not as worth it. That being said the movie is… how do you say… decent. It did live up to the fact that it is a DC movie and is not as childish as Marvel ones (begin the hate). The story line was honestly very weak and her past is very poorly displayed which is kind of disappointing. The action scenes on the other hand were some of the best I’ve seen. Very well directed and very clean action scenes. It was very easy to understand what was going on unlike in some/most action scenes of action films. The movie was very dragged out and required a much more powerful core back story to be focused on to make it more interesting. I do feel some music would’ve added some hype to the film. Ahh! Now I know how to say it! The story was bland. There was no real purpose to it. I guess this was the basis being laid for wonder woman’s story to keep us prepared for the justice league and future wonder woman films. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this movie but if you’re a DC fan you should. Overall ok.

Rating:

I would give this movie 3/5 stars.

Attack On Titan (Season 2): Anime

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog! Hope everyone has had an amazing week. School is back for me so my post is late. So let’s begin the review of this anime ‘Attack on Titan season 2’!

The story thus continues.

Review:

Ok so there are some positives and negatives about this season that I want to talk about.

Positives:

So, this season was comparatively very different from the first season. New titans, older characters, better quality and all that stuff. Personally, I preferred this season over the 1st in the sense of story and suspense. The first season did lay the basis and had some crazy action but the second season added to the hype and really kept a good flow with the anime. A lot of work was done to build up a great story line for this season and the ending really created some great suspense for an upcoming season 3! I really love the build up of Eren’s character and the two surprise Titans they show us (no spoilers!)!

Negatives:

This season honestly did lack a great punch when it came to action. There were some great scenes but not as interesting as we would like. We really desperately needed to see at least one episode of Levi fighting which the anime failed to show. The last episode really got to people when their favorite ship of MIkasa X Eren had a romantic scene but the writers failed to build up the relationship. That honestly could’ve been amazing, There were a lot of unanswered questions. For eg. how did Eren suddenly become important to the humans survival? How come every god damn person is a Titan? That is something I must comment on! Now that EVERYONE is a Titan Eren and Annie have really lost their uniqueness. Also, WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO ANNIE!? I think that was one main question everyone was hoping would be answered in the second season. Oh, and the opening, like always, was bad XD (for me)!

This all being said that there was more negative than positive in this season. It was a great season and has set a great benchmark and a lot of expectations for season 3, which I personally can’t wait for! A very entertaining season with some great helpful knowledge of the anime. Overall good.

Check my review on the first season (it ain’t that great… It’s when I initially began reviewing and I wasn’t that good) : Attack On Titan (Season 1): Anime

Rating:

I would give this season of the anime 3.5/5 stars.

Haikyuu!! (Season 2): Anime

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog! Hope everyone has had an amazing week. My wifi has been down for the last few days so I couldn’t really get my blog up this Wednesday and school starts Monday 😥 !! End of summer!! Well, let’s begin the review of this season of the anime, Haikyuu!!

About:

This sport anime was written by Haruichi Furudate and was aired in April, 2014.

No. of episodes: 25

Characters:

  • Daichi Sawamura

  • Yū Nishinoya
  • Ryūnosuke Tanaka

  • Keishin Ukai

Story:

The story revolves around high schoolers who play volleyball. Their school is given the name of the ‘falling champions’ and now with their new and improved team they aim to go to the national.

Review:

Firstly, I would suggest you read my first season review (Haikyuu!! (Season 1): Anime) and also check out the anime cause this season is nothing like the first season! Ok so let me say, according to me, this season was definitely better, more hyped, more about sports and more entertaining than the first season. Everything from the opening to every single point was just captivating for the audience. I will still stick to my work on how the winning pattern is similar to that in KNB. I was really surprised on how high they pumped up the matches this time. I really can’t wait to see season 3! I am not gonna give any spoilers about this season. What I will say is that this season is packed with surprises and unpredictable stuff which really gets me excite. This season also perfectly depicts why I love sport anime’s; I think season 3 of this anime and season 3 of Yowamushi Pedal will be the last sports anime I see for a while now cause I’m honestly getting tired of all of the massive addiction and school sis starting so I gotta concentrate on that! Each and very episode of season season brings us a new level of excitement and eagerness to see the next episode which I love in the anime! The development of Kageyama and Hinata is gradual yet great in this season. They are not really displayed as much as in the first season but they are shown in very important roles (as they should be). A very well made season and lays before us a great opening for season 3! Overall fantastic!

Rating:

I would give this season of the anime 4/5 stars.

Dallas Buyers Club: Movie

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog! Hopefully everyone has had an amazing week! I have definitely had one of my bests! I had a great vacation, got my xBox set up, got a 10 CGPA in my exams! Couldn’t ask for more! So let’s begin the review of this movie, Dallas Buyers Club!

About:

This biographical drama film was directed by Jean-Marc Valée and was released in November. 2013.

Characters:

  • Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey)

Story:

The story is about the man. Ron Woodroof, who is diagnosed with HIV. He is given a medicine relatively new to the market that is slowly killing him inside. After he realizes this, begins a war between him and the FDA. He finds another medicine to help cure him and starts the Dallas Buyers Club for all those suffering like him and gives them medicine for their cure. Thus displayed is the absolutely crazy life of Ron Woodroof.

Review:

Firstly I must say this movie is fantastically made. Everything I saw, from the beginning to the end was just absolutely entertaining, interesting, dramatic, realistic etc. LOVED IT! I really appreciate how much work and effort Matthew McConaughey put into making this film. He really transformed himself into this incredible character that just added to the perfection of this film. I also really appreciate the realism in this film. Nothing of the film made it actually feel like a movie (apart form the fact that we were watching it on a screen). The directing, pace and display of the film was great. I do feel the movie ended slightly abruptly and they could’ve showed us some more leading to this man’s death. Another negative I would say is that the movie lacked some music that I feel could have really added some more drama and enthusiasm to the film (but that could just be me). I really don’t know what else to say in this review so I guess it’s gonna be a bit short. Highly recommended film. I would put a disclaimer to prevent kids from watching this. Overall awesome!

Rating:

I would give this movie 4/5 stars.

Haikyuu!! (Season 1): Anime

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. Hope everyone’s week has been going amazing! So let’s begin the review of the first season of this anime Haikyuu.

Review:

First of all let me say, this anime has a lot of stuff in common with KNB (Kuroko No Basket). Hinata and Kageyama are like the shadow and the light, the matches winning and losing pattern are exactly the same as that in KNB’s inter-high. I was disappointed when I noticed this. Actually, it was so obvious that even my 13 year old brother noticed. Also, the opening and endings are very common in Haikyuu!! and KNB. I find it very sad to know that an anime with such diverse and unique characters with great individual stories and a great story line had to copy their basic plot from another anime. Of course this is my opinion. I could be entirely wrong and could sound like a complete idiot right now. Moving on. The anime does develop some characters with some really awesome stories behind them. I feel that’s the basis of this anime. More than the sport, they focused on the characters. I hope this is how it is only in the first season and there will be more sports and action in the other seasons. Now that does sound like  a ton of criticism but the anime is actually very entertaining and fun to watch. Whatever few matches that the anime had were extremely interesting and nerve-racking. Each character adds to the anime and provides a new level of entertainment. From the ace to the libero to our main character, Hinata. All are amazing. I really did enjoy this season and can’t wait to get started onto season 2. This season lacked the seriousness in the competition that most sport anime’s have. I would still recommend, highly, to watch this anime. Overall pretty good.

Rating:

I would give this season of the anime 3.5/5 stars.

Shokugeki No Soma (Season 2): Anime

Now he must cook off against other students and reach his aim i.e. ‘the best chef’!

Review:

Like I said in my previous review of this anime (Shokugeki No Soma (Season 1): Anime), I love this anime. What I feel is that the first episode of the anime jumped into the competition way too soon. If it weren’t for that the anime could’ve easily extended to about 24 episodes. They didn’t show any preparation for Soma and just got the competition up and rolling. That was one of the major problems I had with this season. But as the anime continued the competition seriously exited me! No spoilers but the finals was just mind blowing! The anime took a completely different turn and provided suspense, intense competition and an unbelievable time for its viewers. This season proved to be more entertaining than even the first season. The way the characters were displayed this season showed a completely different side compared to the first season. It was great! I really liked the opening and ending songs as well. I said it before and I will say it again, a must watch anime, This season had a lot of ‘no way’ moments that got you excited for more and more. I love that in anime’s. I honestly can’t wait for season 3! It’s gonna be hype!Overall amazing!

Rating:

I would give this season 4/5 stars.

Review:

The review of this TV show wont be too long mainly because I saw this show when it initially released which was a long time ago and I remember it just vividly. I would firstly have to say that this show definitely requires a warning of explicit content may it be language or violence or certain scenes. So, I would not recommend young people to watch this. I for one, love biographies. Just knowing that this has happened in real life excites me! The show is very well made. The action, seriousness, characters, all give a very realistic effect which I find very appealing in a show.  Each actor has done a very good job with their role to display a very interesting story. There are very minimal scenes that bored me and the show was was very entertaining. It is one of the best shows I have seen in terms of a biography. I would highly recommend to watch this show keeping in mind the bad language and scenes. Still a great show! Overall awesome!

Rating:

I would give this TV show 4/5 stars.

Yowamushi Pedal (Season 1 & 2): Anime

Story:

Review:

I have been seeing a lot of sports anime’s recently and I don’t know why. But if I mus say that this sports anime has the most intense and unpredictable competition I have ever seen in sports anime! I absolutely adore this anime. Unlike most of my recent sports anime’s this one focuses on the back stories of only a few people and the way they emphasis and display this is fantastic. The first season showed us the fight of the first years to enter the inter high and they also show the introduction of a natural born cyclist i.e. our protagonist, Onoda. We are also shown the first day of the inter high which is absolutely fantastic. This is actually the reason I am reviewing the first and second season together because the same race spans over two seasons. The second season jumps directly into the race and shows us a very sad back story of a very weird character, Midousiju. The character, Onoda, always surprises us with new wonders and you can’t possibly ask for a better character. He has such a positive attitude and outlook on life. And the third day is the shit. That is what makes me call this anime one with such intense competition. AND IT’S SO UNPREDICTABLE I LOVE IT! I actually teared up at the end when the third years had to leave and how the final race ended (no spoilers). Pretty good openings and average ending songs. I can’t wait to see season 3! I highly recommend to watch this. Overall outstanding!

Rating:

I would give these 2 seasons of the anime 4.5/5 stars.

Now it is the mission of the Guardians of the Galaxy to stop him. Only, they have problems of their own!

Review:

I went into this movie super excited. The first one really impressed me and got me excited for this second one. The opening and first half really lived up to my expectations. It brought quite a bit of comedy and plenty of entertaining enough scenes. What really got me was how many times there were when I said, “I’m bored”. Honestly, for me, the whole encounter with Ego and Peter was quite boring. The best character in this film is Rocket. He really saved the movie. The second half of the film was filled with the action that we all love and desire. The action did live up to the hype. It brought with it lots of enjoyment and fun but like any other super hero film it was…. clichéd! Can’t complain about that. My favorite thing about the movie was the song album. It was great! It really added to the movie in an interesting manner. Anyways, I would recommend all Marvel fans to see this movie. But I don’t think you’re gonna miss out on anything if you don’t see this. I’m not a Marvel fanatic myself. Overall meh.

Rating:

I would give this movie 3/5 stars.

All Out: Anime

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. Hope everyone’s weeks are going amazing! I have tons of anime blogs just stacked up that I need to get to! So let’s begin the review!

About:

This sport anime was written by Shiori Amase and was aired in October, 2016.

No. of episodes: 25

Characters:

  • Kenji Gion
  • Sumiaki Iwashimizu

  • Mutsumi Hachiōji
  • Etsugo Ōharano
  • Masaru Ebumi

A lot more but they’re really not that important.

Story:

The story takes place in High School Jinko where the rugby team seems to be lacking in all aspects. But with a group of new first-years and a new coach, their aim is to change that around and reach the nationals and win! Thus begins a series of games, training and practice!

Review:

I for one love sports anime. They just give a completely different feel compared to other anime’s. I saw this anime while it was going and like any other sports anime, it was just a lot of suspense to cope up with in one week i.e. in most episodes, not all of course. I love how the story developed around one guy but the story wasn’t focused around ‘that’ one guy. The anime is very ‘to the point’. The opening and ending songs are really good. What really interests me is how every character had their own back story and personality in the anime and the writers have stressed on their lives too, not only of the protagonist’s. There is a hint of comedy in the anime and the matches are honestly very interesting. I have never played or seen rugby but I guess they knew that their audience was gonna be those kind of people and so they kind of explained the rules of rugby in the anime as well. There were a patch of episodes that were quite boring but that wasn’t really a problem. The ending episodes were really awesome. Honesty, this anime is jam packed with entertainment! I would highly recommend to watch this anime. I can’t wait for season 2 of this anime. Overall good!

Rating:

I would give this anime 3.5/5 stars.
